Section 627.0652, Florida Statutes, authorizes drivers who are 55 years of age or older to complete a Mature Driver (Senior Citizen) Discount course that is approved by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). Upon successful completion of the course, the driver can provide the completion certificate to their insurance company for an insurance discount. The amount of the discount is at the discretion of each insurance company and will typically last for three years as long as the driver:

• Is not involved in a crash for which the insured is cited; and
• Is neither convicted, nor pleads guilty or nolo contendere (no contest) to a moving violation.

We automatically report your course completion to GEICO as soon as you finish. Other insurance companies are only reported by the student.

You should, however, always print and download a copy of your Certificate of Completion.�

You should also contact your insurance company and follow their procedures� (including GEICO) to confirm they have your course completion on file.

The course is mandated by Florida law to be six hour long.
